Why Choose China Jasmine Yin Hao?
Beautifully fragrant jasmine aroma
The defining characteristic of this tea is its captivating jasmine fragrance. Floral and sweet-smelling, the aroma is released beautifully as the leaves infuse.
Premium Chinese green tea character
The green tea provides a fresh, clean and subtly grassy foundation that balances the floral sweetness of jasmine.
Traditionally inspired
Jasmine tea has a long history in China, with traditional scenting methods used to combine tea leaves with the natural fragrance of jasmine blossoms.
Delicate and refreshing
Unlike stronger black teas, Jasmine Yin Hao offers a lighter, more elegant drinking experience with a clean and refreshing finish.
Naturally contains antioxidants
Green tea naturally contains polyphenols and other plant compounds with antioxidant properties.
The Story of Jasmine Tea
Jasmine tea has been enjoyed in China for centuries, with its history particularly associated with the tea-producing regions of southern China.
Traditional jasmine tea is created by allowing green tea leaves to absorb the fragrance of freshly picked jasmine blossoms. The tea and flowers are carefully brought together so the delicate floral aroma can permeate the tea.
The process may be repeated to develop a deeper and more refined jasmine fragrance.
This traditional approach gives jasmine tea its distinctive character — rather than simply adding jasmine flavouring, the tea leaves become naturally infused with the beautiful aroma of jasmine flowers.
Yin Hao, meaning “Silver Tip”, reflects the association with fine young tea leaves and buds, helping give this style of tea its elegant appearance and refined character.
How to Brew China Jasmine Yin Hao
For the best flavour, use approximately 2–3g of tea per cup.
- Bring freshly drawn water to approximately 80–85°C.
- Add 2–3g of Jasmine Yin Hao to your cup, teapot or tea infuser.
- Pour the hot water over the leaves.
- Allow to infuse for approximately 2–3 minutes.
- Remove or strain the leaves and enjoy.
Tip: Avoid using boiling water. Water that is too hot can make delicate green tea taste bitter and can overpower the beautiful jasmine aroma.
Multiple Infusions
Good-quality loose leaf Jasmine Yin Hao can often be re-infused.
Try a second infusion with slightly longer brewing time and discover how the balance between the green tea and jasmine fragrance develops.
A Tea Tongs / Infuser is ideal for brewing a single cup.
Serving Suggestions
Jasmine Yin Hao is traditionally enjoyed without milk, allowing the delicate floral fragrance and fresh green tea character to shine.
It is excellent served alongside:
- Light pastries
